11 1/2 wks

We went to my OB on Monday. She tried to listen to the baby's heartbeat but couldn't find it, which was the same for Nathan at that stage in pregnancy. So, we got to have another ultrasound! Up until this ultrasound, being pregnant was in the back of our minds but after seeing the baby this time it made it more real! It was exceptionally awesome this time because the tech showed us some 3D images! It was so wonderful to see the little 1.5 inch long baby move around. We even saw its arms and legs bend at its elbows and knees! It's so hard to grasp that the baby at this early of a stage and at such a small size looks so much like it will when it's born! Pregnancy is such a beautiful miracle and blessing! I don't know how anyone could not believe in God after being pregnant or having a child. They are so perfect and it's amazing to watch them grow! The Lord sure knows what He is doing! In this pic of an ultrasound pic you can see the baby's head, torso and kind of see it's legs and arms. You can also see the umbilical cord and where it attaches to the placenta. If you look closely at one of our original ultrasound pics, you can even make out a little face! So amazing!

We plan on the baby's gender being a surprise to us with this pregnancy also. We loved not knowing with Nathan and hearing the nurse telling us "It's a boy!" after Nathan was born! I am feeling great for the most part. I am a little more tired than I have been. I think it's because the baby is supposed to grow another couple inches around 12 weeks. My clothes still fit, but I am getting into the awkward "Is she pudgy or pregnant?" look. I can tell I am pooching out a little more now. It's worth it though. My loving husband said the best thing a man can say to his wife while she is pregnant... he said, "Baby, when will you get big? I miss seeing your big baby belly." How sweet! I look forward to it too. I loved being pregnant with Nathan. I especially look forward to feeling the baby move! We are trying to point out babys to Nathan and try to associate it with my belly, but I think he isn't quite getting it. He does say baby though and will hold a stuffed animal tenderly and say "aww."
